Frequently asked questions
Who is Wild Brambles for?
Wild Brambles is designed for friendly, high-energy dogs who enjoy exploring off-lead. We ask that dogs are comfortable around others, able to walk nicely on lead, up to date on vaccinations, and have a reliable recall. This helps us keep our small groups safe, happy, and thriving together.
What happens at the Meet and Greet?
Before welcoming any new dog to the pack, we arrange a free meet & greet with you and your dog. This gives us a chance to get to know each other, understand your dog’s needs, and make sure Wild Brambles is the right fit. If we’re both happy to move forward, we’ll plan the best way to build a strong relationship with your dog and introduce them gently to the group.
Meet & Greets will primarily take place on Thursday and Fridays but there may be opportunity to organise these on another day depending on availability - please do not hesitate to discuss.
Does my dog need to be neutered?
To ensure the safety and harmony within walking groups, we ask the following
- Male dogs must be neutered
- Female dogs in season myst be discussed in advance
For male dogs not neutered and females in heat, we can offer managed solo walks depending on the dog's requirements.
Do you walk in all weathers?
Yes, walks take place in most weather conditions, as dogs benefit from outdoor experiences year-round. However, walks may be adjusted or cancelled if conditions are unsafe (e.g extreme heat, storms, ice). We will ensure to keep dogs comfortable whatever the weather - please let us know if your dog requires any special needs during weather changes.
Adventure Daycare Pick-Up Areas
We currently cover selected areas of YO23, YO24 and YO10 postcodes. — including addresses within Southbank, Acomb, Holgate, Dringhouses, and Fulford.
If you’re outside these areas, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to confirm availability.
Will my dog get muddy and wet?
Possibly - and that's part of the adventure!
We embrace safe outdoor exploration, so muddy paws and we coats can happen. Please let us know if your dog has any sensitivities and we'll be sure to incorporate these into our post walk rub down.
How are the pups transported?
Our Adventure Doggy Daycare includes pick-up and drop-offs. Currently we utilise our owners car where the pups are transported in a secure, well-ventilated SUV using crates or safety harnesses depending on individual needs. Transport safety is always a top priority. If you're pup struggles from motion sickness, please let us know in your registration form and we can discuss methods on how to reduce this.
What is involved in the onboarding process?
Following a successful meet and greet we will require you to complete a registration form which provides us the following information:
- Owner/dog basic info
- Health, medical, and behavioural details
- Terms and conditions, privacy policy and emergency consent details
This form will be reviewed ahead of our first adventure ensuring we have all the information we need to have a safe, fun and enriching adventure.
Adventure Daycare - Dog Requirements
Wild Brambles is designed for friendly, high-energy dogs who enjoy exploring off-lead. We ask that dogs are comfortable around others, able to walk nicely on lead, up to date on vaccinations, and have a reliable recall. This helps us keep our small groups safe, happy, and thriving together.
Adventure Daycare Grouping
Our adventure groups are kept small — no more than five dogs per day, plus my own dog Bramble — to ensure safety, consistency, and strong bonds. After the initial trial day, we ask for a minimum commitment of one recurring adventure each week, giving your dog a steady routine and the chance to truly become part of the pack.
Do you walk on a weekend?
Yes, we can offer weekend walks where availability aligns. Rates for weekend walks are at 10% of the solo rate - £19.80 per hour.
Weekend walks are solo walks only - pick up and drop off included.
What is included on your 1hr dog walks?
We offer pack walks (4 dogs max) and solo walks on Thursday and Fridays. We will pick your dog up either in the car if a pack walk or on foot for solo. Depending on your dogs needs, we will either take your dog on a heeled walk or to a green space around your local area. A quick towel dry and paw check will be done before dropping them back at home. Should you not be in, we are insured to hold keys and can pop your pup back in their safe space once the walk is done - please speak to the Wild Brambles team for more details.
